University of Valley Forge

At the University of Valley Forge, it’s all about faith — faith to learn, lead, and serve. It’s a journey of faith that takes one to places they never imagined. UVF is committed to preparing individuals for this journey.

The University of Valley Forge is situated on a spacious 150-acre campus in a small-town setting outside Phoenixville in Chester County. Students enjoy walking, jogging, long boarding, and biking on the nature trail that connects the campus to a nearby 44-acre park. The growing campus community finds strength in the diversity of a student body that includes students from all over the U.S. and other countries.

These images were only a dream when the college first began in 1931 as an Assemblies of God summer bible school on the campground of Maranatha Park in Green Lane, Pennsylvania. In January 1939, the bible school was chartered as a college under the name Eastern Bible Institute with a mission to train pastors, evangelists, missionaries, Christian educators, and lay workers. A series of mergers in those early years expanded enrollment and the school again changed its name to Northeast Bible Institute.

In 1967, a milestone was achieved when the school received accreditation from the American Association of Bible Colleges. Following provisional approval by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to offer a Bachelor of Science in Bible degree in 1975, the name changed again to Northeast Bible College. A short time later, the school moved from Green Lane to the former Valley Forge General Hospital site in Phoenixville and officially became Valley Forge Christian College in 1977. Since then, the campus buildings and grounds have undergone almost continuous renovations and improvements. In 2014, Valley Forge Christian College achieved university status, changing its name to the University of Valley Forge.

UVF is committed to providing an affordable, quality education. Of currently enrolled students, 95% receive financial aid. Through grants, scholarships, and loans, young people discover their dreams of a Christian higher education can come true. UVF’s suburban Philadelphia location also provides ample job opportunities at above-average pay.

Professors encourage students to explore the truth of God’s word. Students are challenged academically as well as spiritually, while learning to apply classroom knowledge in real-life situations. A 13 to 1 student-to-faculty ratio enhances the educational experience and improves communication.

Students are presented with numerous opportunities for ministry in the community and surrounding areas. Each year ministry teams are formed that represent the college in various ways. Music teams visit churches, youth groups, conventions, and summer camps. Other student-led ministry teams share Christ through inner-city outreaches, in nursing homes, at youth conventions, and at Teen Challenge centers. Student worship teams also lead dynamic chapel services on a daily basis.

The school has invested heavily in cutting-edge technology that permeates the life of the college; from classrooms, to chapel, to dorm rooms. The state-of-the-art library, Storms Research Center (SRC), serves as the catalyst for an ever-changing physical campus.

Currently, UVF offers over 50 undergraduate, 7 graduate, and 9 associate degree programs. The college is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and holds affiliate membership with the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities. Since its inception, the University of Valley Forge has remained committed to its mission—preparing individuals for a life of service and leadership in the church and the world.

Our firm has been a trusted advisor for many of those years and we congratulate new president Reverend David Kim and the board of trustees for the significant contribution they are making in the faith journeys of their students.
